Sharing Sweet Success – The Honey Party Episode #14

 

In today’s episode I talk about creating Sacred Space for your success – I was on the phone last night to one of my oldest friends Michele who owns Victory Sport Horses in Gainesville Florida and also is a photographer with her husband Dave Mullinix who goes all up and down the East Coast photographing horses at horse shows and other events.  

She has, in recent years, been opening up to her creative side and recently she’s started to write.  On the phone last night she was expressing her concerns that there might be something wrong because all she wants to do is close her self in her room and write.

I assured her that it was vital to her well being to answer the “call of the muse” and do her writing when it’s coming through and I also validated for her how important it is to honor and value yourself and your creative expression enough to make the space and time for it to happen.  Sometimes that means saying to your family members that they are on their own for dinner tonight – sometimes it means letting go of connecting with your friends or colleagues for a bit – sometimes it means using the magic word “NO”.  As my colleague and magical medicine sister Nancy Marmolejo said recently in one of her blog posts NO is a complete sentence!  When you successfully complete whatever your next brainchild is you may want to hook up with Nancy for some great and super current marketing advice like this marketing tip from Crazy Horse from recent blog post of hers.

Setting boundaries for yourself is a useful thing to do in all areas of your life.  It’s important to be clear about what you do and do not want to show up in your world.  Boundaries aren’t meant to block the flow – rather they are meant to create a container within which the flow can be captured – kind of like the way the basin of the lake holds the water allowing the element of water to transform itself into something more – the lake!

A good boundary is like a clear window pane – You can see out, the light can come in but the dust and debris, the cold or the hot air, the sounds of traffic etc. are kept out of your space.  No judgment either – it’s not about judging what’s outside of your boundaries as bad and what’s inside as good – it’s about knowing what’s good FOR YOU, claiming it and leaving everything else out.

So make sure you create some sacred space today – it will do you a world of good and will help you to focus and concentrate on YOUR SUCCESS!

A Day of Play! (Times 2!!)

What a joy it is to have friends who we can share our lives, loves and laughs with!  Two days in a row I have been gifted GENEROUSLY with the presence of two wonderful women!  One my friend Mish (YO MISH)

who came to visit on a whim from Spirit and ended up enjoying the entire sunny late summer afternoon with me yesterday is a beautiful and brainy babe who inspires me with her quick wit and lightening fast mind – she always has me buzzing and on my toes – all the neurons fire when she comes to visit.  We could talk for hours about everything from sustainability and rainforest herbs to adventures with men and friends, to the dissolution of the financial systems on Wall Street, to the dreaming of a new world vision.  We thoroughly enjoy each other and have such a beautiful time together feeding each other and feasting on life!  Here she is a few years ago when we spent New Year’s eve together watching Garfield the Movie and toasting in the New Year with Carrot Juice – Isn’t she lovely? 

So today I was Graced with the Warm, Gentle, Loving, Sweet Spirit of my friend and Web GODDESS Wendy Stevens from GardenPlum.  We have spent the whole day on a ROCK BUYING ADVENTURE!!! I took her down to a place that I used to buy my crystals from wholesale when I had my store on the South Shore and where I also pick up components for making Spirit Essence Jewelry.  We had a blast picking through the massive array of magical stones, crystals, and figurines that were out for us to peruse.   She picked up some phenomenal crystal balls for resale through her site and we just had to go outside in the sun this afternoon upon our return to take a few photos –

So after we finished rock shopping we decided to have a quick bite to eat – there was a newly opened Japanese/Chinese restaurant right down the street from the wholesaler’s warehouse that was recommended to us so we stopped in for a quick bite.  The buffet was delicious and filled with some very unusual choices including mussels in black bean sauce and pineapple shrimp.  The buffet reminded me of the abundance that is in my life and to be grateful for the multitude of choices and opportunities that we have before us to select from.  As I was leaving the line with my plate Wendy remarked that my meal looked like a piece of art – so I whipped out my new cheapo digital camera and snapped a few shots of my lunch which was quite delicious as well as being beautiful. 

Take some time out of your busy life, walk away from the work, let go of the dishes, allow the phone calls to go to voice mail, ignore the text messages and spend a little quality time with friends.  Friends fill the cup of life when it’s empty and are a special gift to us on our journey to bring us much comfort and joy.

Back from the Bead Show!!

Elemental Wisdom Necklace

Wow- I had forgotten how wonderful it is to go to the bead shows.  It’s been over two years (I can’t even believe it’s been that long) since I last went on a bead buying frenzy.  It’s interesting because it speaks to how I flow creatively – a huge rush of creativity overcomes me – I go crazy buying supplies and creating in a surge of energy and then the urge suddenly goes dormant.  Then all of a sudden (2 years later!!) I get bitten by the “bug” again.

So just about 3 weeks ago I went with a friend to the International Gem & Mineral show and came back with some magical new beads and re-connected with my jewelry making again.  During my website revamp I decided that I was not going to create a “jewelry store” component, instead I’ve decided to only create on a custom order basis and so Spirit Essence Jewelry was born. 

When I make a piece of this beautiful jewelry I connect with the Essence of your Spirit and with your spiritual guides, angels and “upstairs” team to create a piece that energetically supports you where you are in your present journey.

The visit to both the July bead show and the East Coast Gem show this past weekend was really wonderful and brought to me some interesting “new” minerals that I haven’t worked with before.  Whenever something new shows up in my life – not too long afterwards someone comes in for whom that crystal or mineral is perfectly suited.

I’ve already had a number of custom orders from folks for Spirit Essence Jewelry and have received some outstanding feedback from the energetic experiences that have occured as a result of working with these pieces.   I’ve had – of course – made a few new pieces for myself as well.  One is pictured here (I know the picture quality/lighting is lousy!) – this is my latest personal piece – I call it my Elemental Wisdom piece.  It’s made of Fire Agate, Blue Coral, Lava and Black Tourmaline – I feel like it combines all of the elements – earth, wind, water and fire.  My sense is that for me this piece is both purifying, protective and unifying.  I feel very grounded and strong and light wearing it!
