Image BORROWED from the Let's Go Digital Site to illustrate a point - Boy has a Samsung Phone

Today’s message is all about the stories we tell ourselves about what’s going on in our world!  I had the most interesting experience in the last few days with my son.  Friday he came home from school and announced that his phone was dead.  Here’s the story that he wove for himself:

Him: “My phone is dead.  My dad is an A**hole.  He shut me down.  I’m not speaking to him until he turns my phone back on.”

Me:  “Well how will you let him know how you feel – you’ll have to talk to him in order to let him know”

Him:  “No – I’m not bending to his will – I will not speak to him – he can wait forever as far as I’m concerned.  I’ll speak to him when he get’s over himself and turns my phone back on.”

Me: “Well I’m not sure exactly how that’s going to happen – if you don’t let him know and won’t speak to him about getting your phone turned back on – I don’t see how the phone will ever get turned back on.”

Him: “I don’t care – I’m not speaking to him”

This goes on for a few days and then I go out on Sunday – when I return I find that the boy has spoken to the dad on the house phone.  He suddenly received a call on his cell from a friend and discovered his cell was back on again – so he answered the phone when the dad called.  The real story was that his dad had lost his phone in a parking lot somewhere and when he called the phone company to report it lost they shut off service to both phones.
What’s REALLY interesting to me was how quickly my son made up this whole story in his head about his dad shutting him off and being an a**hole.  How quickly do YOU jump to conclusions and make up stories in your head?  How often do you SHUT DOWN the lines of communication and are unwilling to even INVESTIGATE other possibilities for what is happening?  How many times have you JUDGED and discovered later that you grossly MISJUDGED a situation or another person?

If you have any of what we call “POB’s” (patterns of behavior) going on for you-you may be playing out an OLD story – in fact it may not even be a story from THIS LIFETIME!!! Just off the phone today with a brand new client – she was deep in panic mode after having made the decision to move forward with us in our CORE PATH – Energy Foundations for Divine Wealth Intensive.  As a signing bonus because she made the decision right on the first phone call with me I had given her a complimentary full hour with me that she could use anytime between her decision and three months from now.    Well that sure came in handy!  Part of her panic was over whether she could handle the financial commitment and still fulfill her “responsibility” to mothering her daughter.

We discovered that she was carrying not just an Old Story of her own – but she was also carrying a GENERATIONAL story – from her mother line  – AND a KARMIC Contract from a previous lifetime – In an hour we unthreaded this tangled web and transformed her story of panic, fear, apprehension, unsafety and deep need for CONTROL into a brand new Statement of Power:
I Am Wise, I am Strong, I Am Fearless, I have CHOICES!

Wowie Zowie – now there’s an SOP (Statement of Power AND Standard Operational Procedure) that I can seriously APPLAUD in a big way!  What is true for her can be true for ME too!! That’s what I LOVE about my work – I LOVE LOVE LOVE that when I do work with someone else – because in truth we are ALL one – I am healing that part of me too!  Isn’t that DELICIOUS?

Thanks for reading – please comment if this Story has some resonance for you!

As promised I’m going to share the new Statement of Power that came to me yesterday about control – I think you’ll enjoy it:

“I relinquish control now.  I release all feelings of anxiety, apprehension, frustration and worry now.  I love and accept this situation exactly as it is in this moment.  I forgive and release everyone involved to go in peace.”

Jello Anyone?

I have been judging myself pretty regularly lately around my mothering capacity.  I have not been showing up the way I really would like to show up in this relationship and I don’t really feel like I’m doing a great job managing the transition between boy and man.  In my opinion I was SO much better when he was younger – I could be looking back in time with rose colored glasses but my feeling is I knew better how to just be with him.

I was reading a book sent by a dear friend to me right before the holidays about child rearing and the author said that raising a teen is like trying to nail jello to a tree.  I LOVED that – it cracked me up and really describes what’s going on here.  One minute boy, the next minute posturing as man – sometimes mean man, sometimes angry man, sometimes rude man, sometimes inconsiderate man – I’m waiting for Gentleman to show up!

What’s helpful to me to remember – besides working with my Statement of Power – is that underneath all the angst there is a beautiful soul that I dearly love and that this too shall pass!

Do you have relationships where you are being challenged?  What are you doing for yourself to take care of yourself?  What part of the disharmony are you taking responsibility for shifting?  Have you noticed any patterns of behavior that are holdovers from other relationships – if so this can certainly be shifted at the energetic level – seeking out the origins of patterns of behavior or experience that no longer serves is part of the Surfacing aspect of our SCORE for your Spiritually Energized Entrepreneurial Success System.

Well this is actually yesterday’s morning message – it was in my head to write but never made it to the blog….
I think there is a reason for that. Yesterday I woke up and had another “morning” with my teen. We’ve been really working our relationship lately – have been since about April at a much deeper and more challenging level than ever before. My kiddo is the greatest! And…. He’s also an “Indigo” and has a very strong will and mind of his own about what he’s going to do with his life and when. We have been particularly challenged lately with getting up to go to school – it’s been not pretty around here for a LOT of mornings in the last few months.

I made a decision at the beginning of this year though – that decision was that I will be creating a SIGNIFICANTLY different reality for myself in this relationship. So the work of course for me is to disengage from the old, familiar, wornout rut of a pattern of behavior and let the chips fall where they may.

Anyway yesterday morning we had school after two snow days and  we had the morning routine start up that isn’t working. What I did after he finally went to school was I spent some time in prayer and meditation to ask for HELP again to keep me in alignment with my intention to have a significantly different experience in my relationship with my son. As I was in meditation on the yoga mat I “received” an invitation to let go of control. Now control has been another one of my lifelong issues that I’ve been working with – the first layer of that onion peeled back in 2002 during my very first visit to Kripalu Center where I had the great good fortune of attending a workshop led by Christine Warren who is an absolute angel on earth.  I just checked her website and lo and behold she’s got a Teen Program!! I’ll have to connect with her and check it out!

I received a great new Statement of Power which I’ll share with you in my next Morning Multidimensional Message (I’m in this Ultimate Blog Challenge and am trying to discipline myself to spread the wealth over several posts!

It came just in time – since I had to “let go” of having this post done yesterday morning!  In fact I have been invited to just let go of the whole idea of dolng two posts a day to “catch up” on the challenge.  We’ll see – I do like a good challenge!
