I’m just back and finally re-aligned with the home/office environment following an almost 2 week journey to the southwest that was filled with transformation, synchronicity and a calling to go deeper, look wider and play bigger. The sign above was in the airport on my way out of town back in mid January – too funny how prophetic it was for me!
Part one of my trip was spent in Las Vegas in the Love Your Clients, Love Your Business, Love Your Life event with Kevin Nations. There I was able to connect and play with many soul family members and I was called to really take a flying leap of faith and invest – HEAVILY – in myself and my business – becoming a DIAMOND Mastermind Client in Kevin’s Love Mastermind 2010. I’ll be deeply engaged in the process and practice of learning how to care for myself so much better, to serve my clients with much greater abandon and to craft and create experiences for both myself and my clients that are deeply, powerfully and passionately transformative. I’m really ready to soar now and I think that this little investment in myself and my business is going to provide the ROCKET FUEL for taking off in a big way. Since our thoughts create our reality – staying focused on that thought is going to be a powerful tool for me to work with in the coming months when the fear storms and panic parties decide to make a visit!
During the second half of my adventure (the Sassy Mastermind with Lisa Sasevich – held in Tucson at Miraval Spa & Resort) I was called to make another LEAP – this time quite literally off of a 35 foot pole atop which was a teeny tiny platform that was 1′ x 2′ in area. My partner for that little step up was Lisa Cherney of Stand Out and Be Juicy Fame – she and I were required to go towards the end in our small group – mostly because we normally are the type to just GO FOR IT. This was really powerful in a number of ways – it allowed those who would normally “stand back” “wait it out” “watch to see what happens” and then “maybe I’ll do it after someone else goes” people to step up and become empowered. It was truly magical to watch the first woman Helen get up there – all the time saying “I can’t do this – I can’t” and then coaching herself right out of it and saying LOUDLY for all to hear – I CAN yes I CAN do this! I CAN! I’m DOING it I CAN!! Amazing. Here’s the video of my Jump for Joy! Why? Because LEADERS Leap!!
So what’s all this got to do with joy and the title of my post? Well one of the exercises in the mastermind was a process of finding the words to describe the benefits of our work. This is an area that I’ve been really working hard at crystallizing for myself over the last several months. Words are the bridges that we use to reach out and touch those who are waiting to find the great work that will transform their lives and bring them to a higher level of awareness and understanding of their true purpose and greatness. With out the words to create that bridge it’s pretty challenging to illuminate a path that might be useful for those people to take and what has been doubly frustrating for me has been the fact that I am constantly told how gifted I am with my writing.

The thing about writing to engage folks in a conversation that ultimately leads to an engagement for services is that it is a wildly different animal then writing to share, to educate or to inspire (although all of those aspects are also included in the best of sales writing). Creating an E- emotional connection is a powerful force to help activate people into making the decision to engage which is the first step on the transformational journey that EVERYONE must make on their own. When writing the marketing/sales materials – our work is to create clarity and connection that will allow the reader to see themselves in the words – where they are RIGHT NOW – as well as to identify that this particular type of transformative work will take them where they REALLY WANT TO BE – at least to the extent that it gets them on the phone to have a deeper dialog or helps them to decide to enroll in this or that teleclass, workshop or experience.
Again what does that have to do with the title of this post? Well in my small group on the night that we were exploring the marketing component of our business and trying to get at the language that describes our benefits – one of the words that kept coming through for me and for one of my other partners in the group was joy.
So here was the exercise: Pick just ONE benefit of your services – I picked “This work will help you learn to set and maintain clear boundaries”. The next step was for us to talk about what the benefit of that benefit was – so the question that our other team members were asked to ask us was “What’s the benefit of that?” several times – and each time we had to go deeper and deeper into the benefit of the benefit. One of the team members was the scribe and here’s what he wrote for me:
“This work will help you learn to set and maintain clear boundaries” – What’s the benefit of that?
“You’ll have greater empowerment around decisions” – What’s the benefit of that?
“When u can set boundaries clearly, your energy doesn’t get drained” – What’s the benefit of that?
“If you lose your energy, you’re aren’t able to make a powerful decision” – What’s the benefit of that?
“You’re able to be in your energetic integrity, your not losing your power when you set your boundaries” – What’s the benefit of that?
“You are able to make decisions and interact with people from a place of fullness, you’re really in your power” – What’s the benefit of that?
“You have a sense of fullness, you feel whole. – you don’t feel torn in a lot of different directions you feel more full” – What’s the benefit of that?
“When you feel full you are able to serve at the highest level” – What’s the benefit of that?
“When you serve at the highest level you are living your purpose” – What’s the benefit of that?
“If you are living your purpose, you come into a place of joy”
I was really JOYOUS when I walked into Miraval and was greeted by a Butterfly Amethyst!
At that point my time was up – and I had landed at the NEBULOUS place – that place called JOY. There is an energy and a vibration that JOY holds – that if you haven’t experienced it yourself can be quite difficult to describe – there are some things that are beyond words, joy is one of them. It’s kind of like trying to describe to someone what it’s like to be a parent when they’ve never had a child – virtually impossible. However just because it’s difficult to describe DOES NOT mean that it’s impossible to attain. In fact the place of joy is a very real and tangible place on the spectrum of vibrations and it’s something that can not only be reached but cultivated.
One of the most heart opening and transformational teachers whose work facilitated my own transformation to a space where I can and regularly do access joy is Marianne Williamson – in her book A Return To Love – I found permission to love myself enough to end my first marriage and I credit Marianne’s wisdom and guidance accessed through her writings with setting me firmly on my path to awakening. In fact I still have her books on my shelf and I’ve got a perpetual calendar on my kitchen counter that I go to every day for a dose of Marianne’s wisdom and inspiration – today’s is so appropriate to this blog post that I want to share it with you all:
“Joy is our goal, our destiny. We cannot know who we are except in joy. Not knowing joy, we do not know ourselves. When we are without joy, we grope in the dark. When we are without joy, we grope in the dark. When we are centered in joy, we attain our wisdom.” (Marianne Williamson from her perpetual calendar A Year of Daily Wisdom)

Back in December I had the pleasure of attending the Millionaire Prodigy Intensive in San Jose California with Kelly O’Neil. One thing that has become increasingly clear to me over time is that there is NEVER an event, experience or occasion that I engage, enroll in or attend that doesn’t have a seed (often a whole HARVEST) of soul growth potential within it. My main focus and my intent is to extract that lesson, gift of power or spiritual initiation above all else. Even when it “seems” like what I am there to do (where ever there is) may be the furthest thing away from the spiritual, because of my intent – there it is – always – WHY I AM THERE is always a bigger piece of why I am there if you know what I mean!
So there I was with Kelly and a gathering of several others who had come together for three intense days of laser focus on our businesses. Kelly is incredibly gifted in the business aspect of things that’s for sure – but she also comes to the table with the added gifts of training in Hypnotherapy and NLP along with her natural and powerful intuitive abilities and she’s not in the least bit hesitant to bring ALL her tools to the party in service to getting to the transformation that the client is looking for.
My intent and focus and purpose for being there was multifold – first of all back in October while at Lisa Sasevich’s Big Mission, Big Sales, Big Life event I was given VERY CLEAR guidance from the “upstairs team” that in 2010 I would be working with the wealthy – that a big part of my mission in the coming year would be assisting those in the wealthy segment who were “awakening” to their higher spirituality, consciousness and gifts and to aid and assist them in shifting their energy, grounding their newly realized psychic and multidimensional capacities and clearing the way energetically for them to fully realize their soul purpose and to manifest it rapidly leveraged by their already accumulated wealth. This was not at all what I myself was expecting when I opened up for the Mission in Mission Bay – but there it was and so I stepped into accepting that and it seemed like a very natural choice to then enroll in work with Kelly who’s specialty is marketing to the affluent. Who better to teach me the subtleties of that then Kelly? Secondly – I clearly wanted to connect with the teachings that Kelly had to offer of course as I believed that her experience in this area would be most valuable. Thirdly – I wanted to actively engage in and begin to birth forth the practice of creating a business that is going to thrive which will subsequently place me in that space of thriving financially as well. It was time for me to fill up the well again – and to learn from an expert.
The group was fairly small which gave each of us plenty of time on the “hot seat” and as each person landed in that spot – it was clear that this event was going to be what I’m beginning to call a “hybrid” – part business, part spiritual/emotional/mental shifting. Kelly (and others) call that piece mindset shifting and the way the weekend shaped up we were fairly well split – half of us received deep focus on our business, the other half ended up spending most of the hot seat time doing the mindset shift work. My thoughts when it was my turn (and Kelly’s too for that matter) were that I was going to be having most of the focus on the biz stuff since I am deeply engaged almost on a continuous basis on the spiritual/energetic and mindset shifting work. Well of course you know we plan and Spirit laughs – when it was my turn – Kelly asked me one question – the one word she’d written on my file – RECEIVE! “What’s your problem with receiving?” or something along those lines was the first thing out of her mouth.
This is what emerged for me – as a child my mom (who I believe now probably had undiagnosed borderline personality disorder) was EXTREMELY unpredictable. I’d come home from school every day – braced for the very worst – and then if she was sweet and kind it was a gift – but if she was having a bad day (pretty frequent in my world) then I was ready for it. What used to happen is she would go after me hysterically and out of control. There was an ever changing kaleidoscope of physical/mental/emotional/spiritual abuse – and in retrospect I see that I was the “container” for a lot of her stuff – some of which was as a result of being married to my alcoholic father who had his own thing going on (see prior posts about Jamesons and the Fulact Fia) – some of which was her own stuff that came from an abused childhood of her own. Anyway getting back to the receiving thing – regularly after a major blow out – my mom would go shopping – and bring things home for me – she’d bring home a new outfit or several and that would be her way of “making up” – never an acknowledgment of the crazy making stuff – just this offering of clothing or some other material goods – 90% of which was unfashionable for my age group (remind me to tell you the story of the red & white checked gingham dress sometime!), that I didn’t even like and which caused hoots of derision from some of my less than friendly classmates. For me receiving was just energetically NOT GOOD – because there was this unresolved and unacknowledged wounding that could never be healed by material goods.
When we moved through that Kelly asked me to look at money and that’s where the garbage trucks came in – this was really interesting too – the garbage trucks (Money) were overflowing with stench and hazardous waste. I connected this to a couple of experiences – when I was 18 my parents bought a piece of property that ended up being contaminated with hazardous waste – their entire life savings was poured into the property and eventually they lost it to foreclosure after spending every dime they had on remediation and attorneys. The other piece of this was the relationship I had in and through my 20’s and 30’s with a very wealthy mentor who also was an incredibly angry, rude and explosively tempered man.
I actively worked the transmutation of all of this on the energetic level as Kelly led me through a process of cleansing it all with her NLP/Intuitive/Hypnotherapy skills. First I put all the money/garbage trucks into a bath tub to cleanse it – then I filled the tub with Rose bubble bath – then the water in the tub shifted to Hot Cocoa and the bubbles became Turkish Delight. Money is now YUMMY!!! And that’s a VERY GOOD THING – because if you are trying to run a business, you definitely need to do two things – one – be able to receive (if we are giving all the time – and not receiving we will eventually run out of fuel in our tanks and we’ll continue to perpetuate scarcity mentality and experiences) and two – be able to ESPECIALLY receive MONEY! Not just receive it but keep it around for a while too – at least long enough to feel like we are in a place of thriving and have moved beyond surviving.
Coming home from the event – I made some shifts for myself – first I went to the store and bought several varieties of hot cocoa – then I ordered some Turkish Delight on line and finally I obtained a whole variety of rose scented body products from bubble bath to salts to some delicious lotion that I’m applying almost daily. As I stepped into letting myself receive, into taking better care of myself – and to actively equipping myself with these symbolic representations of YUMMY MONEY there has been a dramatic shift in my business and more importantly at the soul level. I’m feeling SO much more able to be present, to serve my own purpose, to engage in my mission, to help others move through their stuff around money, relationship, entrepreneurship and the overall management and mastery of their personal energy fields and I’m certainly now much better able to have a clear, open and mutually giving and receiving conversation with the affluent clients that are now manifesting all over the place and are ready, and excited to invest in their own transformations through the work that I am here to offer. I’m grateful.

Recently I wrote a pretty extensive post about a shamanic ceremonial weekend that I engaged in during a brilliant weekend in October in New York. As a shaman, a woman of medicine and a wounded healer I am constantly attending to and honing my own Spirit in addition to adding additional “tools” into my toolbox so that I may continue to enhance my abilities to be of service to those who are called to engage in their own deep inner work with me.
One of the things that has evolved for me over the past year is a clarification of exactly whom it is I am here to serve at this time – Evolving Entrepreneurs – like me – in the areas of interest that I myself have explored over the last several years – transformational coach/trainers, artists, speakers, performers, authors, and practitioners in the alternative healing arts.
In order to serve this segment of the marketplace and to further enhance and enrich my abilities as an evolving entrepreneur myself I’ve also taken to “honing my Spirit” in the area of entrepreneurship and to exploring those areas within my own business that I desire to strengthen and improve. Have you noticed???? OMGoodness – since the beginning of the year – passing through that Blue Moon, Lunar Eclipse, Turn of the Decade night on 1/1/10 the vibration has really stepped up dramatically into a whole new zone of joy, lightheartedness, laughter, and can we say virtually INSTANT manifestation????
We’ve had the whole past decade to awaken, remember who we are, and begin to practice and hone our ability to manifest more and more rapidly. Now we are in a vibe that is exponentially higher and more responsive to our every desire. Thus it is vital that all those lessons that we’ve been learning about what it is we don’t want are now integrated at every level.
On New Year’s Day I was visiting with a friend in upstate New York – we had a beautiful cold, snowfilled day by the fire – filled with sacred ceremony, healing and setting of intentions. It was suggested to me that I might want to consider creating a vision board and I hesitated – why? Well deep within me I KNEW (my primary mode of “receiving” divine guidance is Claircognizance) that if I actually sat down and created a vision board that I would be tapping into my deep and profound POWER to create and I’d better be darn sure what it was that I wanted to create before starting.
This knowing has proven to be incredibly accurate – that part of me KNEW that THIS YEAR and particularly right now at the beginning of the year when the “opening note” of the year is being sounded the manifestation would be fast and furious! What has happened already? Well IMMEDIATELY, the day after I manifested something on my board – and the next day, and the next and the next – it’s been truly astonishing to me (even though I knew it was there energetically) how instantaneous the process of manifestation is becoming! At the rate I’m going it’s going to be a lot less than a year before everything on that board is manifested!! So what does that all have to do with consistency and focus??? Well for one thing – the vision board is allowing me to CRYSTALLIZE (read manifest) my desires – it’s providing me with a FOCUS, a focal point, a diving board shall we say that allows me to jump into the deep end of the pool – into the dark sea of awareness – into the void of creation – and begin to attract, draw forth and magnetize to myself all that is in the vision. It also allows me the grace of staying consistent to myself and my goals, dreams and desires. It’s a VISUAL ALTAR and a constant reminder to my subconscious, conscious and superconscious mind that this is what my heart desires right now. I am able to keep myself CLEAR from distraction and to very quickly discern if something is showing up in my field that is NOT what I want so that I don’t waste any time, energy or life force engaging with what is not in alignment with my vision for my life at this time.
This makes it EASY! Easy to shed, clear and remove what doesn’t serve – and Woo HOO Lucky for us we are also in Mercury Retrograde – a PERFECT time for re-ordering, re-organizing, re-prioritizing and re-leasing! This led me to getting a lot of clarity on the activities that I was engaging in that are sustaining the vision and making the commitment to consistently focus on those and to RUTHLESSLY let go of anything that is going to drain me or create an obstacle to attaining the vision.
Re-organized my office to more clearly re-flect my new desires too – here’s a little video of that:
My whole life I’ve been an achiever, and I’ve also always felt a bit (ok sometimes more than a bit) out of step with the rest of the collective consciousness – for a long time I carried the secret fear that there was something wrong with me – but the truth is that I was in many ways ahead of the people and circumstances around me and just didn’t have a clear vision of where I was in relationship to the all. Each of us has a unique and distinct gift to share – each of us contributes to the whole – (have you seen the movie AVATAR – Run and see it asap if you haven’t – it ROCKS!) and each of us comes into our harvest in our own uniquely and divinely destined time.
Sometimes we do get knocked “off track” though – what we dreamed for ourselves turns into something else when we engage in the collective illusion of “how things are done”. My intent and focus and purpose for being there was multifold – first of all back in October while at Lisa Sasevich’s Big Mission, Big Sales, Big Life event I was given VERY CLEAR guidance from the “upstairs team” that in 2010 I would be working with the wealthy – that a big part of my mission in the coming year would be assisting those in the wealthy segment who were “awakening” to their higher spirituality, consciousness and gifts and to aid and assist them in shifting their energy, grounding their newly realized psychic and multidimensional capacities and clearing the way energetically for them to fully realize their soul purpose and to manifest it rapidly leveraged by their already accumulated wealth. This was not at all what I myself was expecting when I opened up for the Mission in Mission Bay – but there it was and so I stepped into accepting that and it seemed like a very natural choice to then enroll in work with Kelly who’s specialty is marketing to the affluent. Who better to teach me the subtleties of that then Kelly? Secondly – I clearly wanted to connect with the teachings that Kelly had to offer of course as I believed that her experience in this area would be most valuable. Thirdly – I wanted to actively engage in and begin to birth forth the practice of creating a business that is going to thrive which will subsequently place me in that space of thriving financially as well. It was time for me to fill up the well again – and to learn from an expert.
The group was fairly small which gave each of us plenty of time on the “hot seat” and as each person landed in that spot – it was clear that this event was going to be what I’m beginning to call a “hybrid” – part business, part spiritual/emotional/mental shifting. Kelly (and others) call that piece mindset shifting and the way the weekend shaped up we were fairly well split – half of us received deep focus on our business, the other half ended up spending most of the hot seat time doing the mindset shift work. My thoughts when it was my turn (and Kelly’s too for that matter) were that I was going to be having most of the focus on the biz stuff since I am deeply engaged almost on a continuous basis on the spiritual/energetic and mindset shifting work. Well of course you know we plan and Spirit laughs – when it was my turn – Kelly asked me one question – the one word she’d written on my file – RECEIVE! “What’s your problem with receiving?” or something along those lines was the first thing out of her mouth.
